This is a 10 minute gentle bed yoga sequence you can do right in your bed to unwind before you fall asleep, or on your mat next to your bed.
Sleep is so important to your quality of life. Without good sleep, or any sleep if you have chronic insomnia, you become depleted mentally, physically and emotionally and begin to break down on all three levels.
After awhile of poor sleep, you hardly feel like yourself anymore (I know, I have gone to war with legit insomnia myself).
So, I created this 10 minute yoga for sleep bed yoga sequence that can be done right from your own bed, so you can fall asleep after.
I wanted to keep it short, and encourage you to slip into your pajamas or something cozy and do these gentle stretches for sleep in bed because doing so will send a signal to the subconscious mind that you are getting ready for sleep.
Getting up for a mat based practice dressed in yoga gear, on the other hand, is more likely to send a signal to the subconscious (especially one wired for insomnia) that it is time to get ...or keep... moving as opposed to settle down, unwind, and rest.
With that in mind, I made sure to only include poses to calm the central nervous system as opposed to stimulating it in anyway.
